Moving Content from 09-12

Hi all,

I recently purchased TRS 12 and have it up and running. Upon moving everything from the 09 version into TRS12, I found quiet a few assets dont work.:n: When I check the error messages, most of them say the mesh files cant be found or loaded, yet I copied everything across. Is there any way I can fix this, as the assets that dont work are all the ones I want to use.

Cheers,
Anthony.

How did you move the stuff over? as you have to use the import function and then, depending on what you imported, correct any errors, shouldn't be any problems with missing meshes though unless they are old and don't have a mesh table.

Quite a few threads on here about how to fix the various errors from old version assets. Best to look in the 2010 and TS12 forums. If you can't find what you are looking for it's a case of start a thread and post the error messages.
Make sure you have installed any updates first as a lot of older stuff is gradually being repaired for 2010 / TS12 as part of the DLS Cleanup program.

Hi Malc,

I opened everything in TRS 09 for edit, then copied the entire 'editing' folder in the TRS 09 program file, then pasted everything into the 'Editing' folder in TRS 12. This is how I moved all my stuff from TRS 06 into TRS 09 when I got it, but I didnt have this issue.... But Im guessing this is not the right way to do it?

Cheers,
Anthony.

I made a big jump from TRS06 to TS12.

I was able to salvage quite a number of items using "Import CDPs" and "Import Content" in the TS12 Content Manager.

Just had to browse around a bit to see where I had saved things (like....a few hours!!)

Be prepared for a lot of error messages (BIG RED ASTERISKS!!!!), as TS12 is a lot more finicky than older versions. You can search the forums for some good links to content updated for TS12, and the DLS will give you access to frequent updates when you launch TS12.

You show up as registered now, so CM should start offering you updates.

PS: Euphod...it's toes-up time!

You have to use the Import function on the old local folder, no need to complicate things. TS12 is not quite the same as other versions. 2009 has the same import function which you could have used on 2006.
