Moving assets

Hello again,
Is there a easy way to copy for instance a route from trs 2006 to trs 2004? It is easy enough going the other way using cmp and the import facility but there is no "export" facility that I have found..The route is trs 2004 compatible by the way..

Ta again...

To do this, you need to use the 'Save as CDP' option in CMP (this can be accessed by right-clicking the asset(s) you want to transfer.

Be aware though, that if you have modified it in TRS2006, the trainz-build may have changed, which may make it very difficult if not impossible to easily transfer.

Hi umphies,

If you have made changes in 2006 it can still be transfered back to 2004. It is not quite as simple as saving to a CDP file because the files contained in the route folder have to be renamed. In 2006 and above the files are named mapfile.bmk, gnd,obs and trk but in 2004 these files must have the map name in each file, eg, british midlands.bmk, british midlands.gnd, british midlands.obs and british midlands.trk.
The best way to do this is to clone the route in 2006 then edit the clone files as above and edit the version no. in the config file. When that is done you can either recommit and save to .cdp or you can simply save all the files to one folder named kuid xxxxx xxxxx then copy it to your custom folder in 2004.

Hope this helps,
