More than 4GB RAM using Win 7 64-bit???

I currently run TS2010 on a fairly high-end Sony Vaio laptop (integrated graphics, Windows 7 64-bit, 4GB RAM) but not top of the line. TS2010 runs pretty well considering the heavily urbanized sections of a route I am building.

In planning for a future PC purchase, I understand the importance of dedicated graphics, but I am unclear whether going beyond 4GB RAM with Win 7 64 bit is of any benefit in running Trainz. Any opinions?

My desktop has 4gigs and windows 7 and while running trainz 12 only used about 2gigs of my ram total. You will be ok with 4gigs, you can add more if you want to.

Trainz can use up to 4 gigs under a 64 bit operating system. Win 7 likes 512mb min then it gets interesting. On triple channel you can go 6 gigs but on dual channel you need to go 8 gigs. If you are booting from an SSD remember that hibernate uses the same amount of space as you have main memory so something larger than 40 gigs is recommended.
