Hello All,

Following some shots from the Moon River NG fictional route:

On an overall note, there will be some more foliage in the end, but since my PC is not that state of the art for today's standards, that will be done when all else is finished...;)

Great job!

Keep the screenies coming! :D

Well, there's more to see, but I noticed arranging these kind of posts as well as taking the shots the way I like takes more time than expected and there's still much to do in the Moon River area.
So much to do, and so little time...:hehe:

Thanks guys.
First some more landscaping and enginering and then some more shots.:D

I don't mean any offence to you or Prowler when I type this, but I think it would be a better idea to use Elvenor's or bendorsey's trestles for this route as both are packaged into cdps and on the DLS. ;)

Great Route

looks so nice, have to ask what version it is, lots of people forget to mention it.

With the sky the way it is the Cargill mine looks like its in a cave, nice effect.

Keep the screenshots comming

None taken, but I can assure you they're available from one of the usual sites dedicated to 36inch NG. Maybe Sirgibby, I'll have to look.
The route will be released to the community, but that will take some time since, apart that I'm busy with it still, there are some items used that are either cloned by me where I need permission for by the original authors, or those I'm trying to create myself. Here's an example (shown before in the Gmax and other 3D packages thread) made in blender

I'm not yet completely satisfied with it though, so as I said before in another post, lots to do still.

It's TRS2006 + SP1, that's the only version of trainz I have...

Looks great. I like the open spaces, a lot like in the rockies.

Thanks, the whole idea is to let the driver go through gradually changing types of terrain en route, so one gets the illusion of travel and going somewhere. :) The longest stretch is approx. 25 minutes at 20mph at the moment.

Hello Todd,

Beautiful work Jan. Looks to be an interesting route. :)

Todd

Thanks for your kind words, work on the railroad is progessing steadily, but there's a part that has puzzled me lately.
I had intended to let the main source for logging be situated in the Moon Valley with a 2ft very small local railroad and using slugsmashers Dry sort yard to transfer the logs from that to the main 3ft Moon River RR for transport to the Mill in Moon River. However it seems logging cars for 2ft aren't available at all. I cloned a 36inch car from slugsmasher capable for 16ft logs and put 2ft bogeys under it and that does work, but this made me wondering if 2ft maybe isn't strong enough for logging operations in real life... If it's revealed that this is the reason for the lack of 2ft logging cars then I have to rethink that part.

Ah, the budding thoughts of a railway engineer in spé...:hehe:

So you wanna be a gold digger?

Well, one part of Moon River hasn't been shown yet, and that's the part with the (gold) Ore Mine Pembroke near Mears Prospect. It's under construction, the mine that is, so here a first impression of the main building.

OreHouse_mainbuilding.jpg

This will be the nonfunctional part. Allthough it might feature an animated lift. The idea is to create an industry active orebin building for loading ore cars and a connecting transport spline between the two, so placement can be adjusted to circumstance and terrain elevation. An additional coal and lumber drop off location or locations could be added too later on.

Hi Guys,

Interesting this thread suddenly got some attention since february.:hehe:
For your information and others interested, I'm still on and off working on this one and it will be released when I'm satisfied with it. Maybe it's the very high quality of shots that can be seen here on this forum, that I sometimes think this isn't up to the standard yet that people seem to expect these days.:)

love the mine

That is one of the stumbling blocks. The main building wasn't a problem, but I'm still shuffling with the measurements for the orebin dumping facility. As said it's a fictional route, so so are these kind of buildings.:hehe:

@simulatortrain. Thanks for the thumbs up, as said it will be released, but I need to contact andi06 for instance first, because I cloned one of his station types to cater for western people to get the passenger functionality for those beautifull cars from bendorsey.

@gary6204: Did that allready.:hehe: There's one snag though. I'm a very big fan of using cab mode in driver, and sadly many very nice creations of the steam era in 30inch don't behave as steam engines. I think that's a real drawback to be honest.

Jan
