Monitor puzzle

I have been using a tft flat screen monitor (17") and thinking of moving to a bigger screen model. Mine is the previous more square style and they are all wide screen now. Doesn't that effect the look of trains and not give the trains a squashed look?

I'm using a 22" widescreen and Trainz looks very good on it, no squishines at all.

You might need to try different settings as some will result in a stretched picture, try a few and see which one suits.

Mine is set at 1580 x 1050 and it shows ok.

My laptop I play 2010 on has a 15" wide screen and the game looks beautiful.

You just have to adjust your resolution settings.

1366 x 768 is what I use as it is native for my screen.

Though, I have been tempted to buy a second larger LCD screen as my laptop has the extra VGA port.

Google your PC monitor model number, and see what its max Screen Resolution is. Mine is a 20" which is 1280 x 1024

Set your PC screen resolution to that size.

You can run Trainz windowed, by editing out -fullscreen and instead typing in -windowed into the Trainzoptions file. Then set Trainz Display Resolution to run the next size down from the PC screen resolution, in the Options page in Trainz. Which is 1280 x 960.

Now I can chat on Yahoo, look at topo maps and Google Earth Images, all the while laying track in Surveyor...by sliding the Trainz screen half way off to the side.
