Mojave to just outside Mojave...

Was told that going to version 49922 would fix this. Nope. So I just spent 2 hours trying to work on the "Mojave to Bakersfield" scenario.

First, I edited the scenario and renamed it to I could dink with it. Fine. Got that working.

Then I pieced around in the rules, found out where coupler breaking was set to 5000, and set it to 10000. That let me get a little further, all the way into the double track area just past the first curve, where it broke again (wasn't even touching the throttle).

So I tried to make it even more but there isn't any even more. 10,000 is the limit.

Went in and removed all the rules for broken couplers. That SEEMED to work. Accelerated up to 60 or so again, went through the first turn, no probs. Went into the section turn (on the double track). The scenario didn't end. Yippee! Then I looked out my back window and saw the rest of my train dropping away - it had still broken, with no input from me.

Has ANYONE gotten this scenario to work? Is there a work-around? I don't care if the couplers break - I'd like that chance but am not going to fret over it. I just want to run the route.

Sadly, I've seen forum posts for this issue back a whole year. Jointed Rail (a bit of a pun in their name, given how rough their route seems to be) hasn't fixed this yet?

Shesh.

SP1 and Hotfix 1 are already posted. Hotfix 2 can be downloaded from the Home page on these forums.

Be aware though that installing SP1 will introduce new bugs - back up everything before installing the patch (and another thing - it's 1.8GB).

I'm pulled down the three patches and am trying to run the first (49922_to_57720, the big 1.8 gig one). I noticed that some people have said in the thread for this that they ran this in something like 10 minutes. Mine got to the mid-point and sat for thirty minutes. Finally I cancelled it. Made sure my old version was intact and reinstalled again. Now its just sitting there. Am I the only one with this issue?

This computer is new, Win7, and pretty fast.

In my experience, 30 minutes is too short a time for the SP1 patch; The patch is big, and takes a long time; I started it in the evening, and let it run overnight, so I can't tell you exactly how long it took, but it was still running after an hour when I went to bed.

I think you've confused information regarding SP1 itself with information about the hotfixes. The hotfixes do only take 10 minutes, but SP1 itself takes up to 12 hours to install (and longer in some situations if antivirus software is not turned off first).

Yes, it took about two hours. I was just about to go to bed and then it finished. Loaded the hotfixes in in about 20 minutes and had a go. Ran all the way to Mojave (well further than I'd originally gotten) and shut down because it was 1am and I'd be up until 4am playing if I kept at it.

Thanks to all for helping me get this running. I love railroading at Tehachapi (I run at La Mesa club once a year (in San Diego's Balboa Park) and know the route pretty well. And this version is a LOT of fun!
