Hi everyone,
Recently my Dad purchased me a Hornby Flying Scotsman train set. This has the loco, tender, 3 coaches, an oval of track, a siding with buffer and a controller.
I've noticed that the return crank on the locomotive (No.4472 herself) is incorrectly placed ahead of the rest of the motion when it should trail.
Can anyone guide me with putting it in the correct location? I've read that the real locos of the A1/A3 class had Gresley Conjugated valve gear and that the return crank is 120 degrees behind the driving rod.
Any help is appreciated, and I hope this is in the right section.
Kieran.
P.S. Going to have to rethink the plan of my existing layout. I was going to set it in the 1960's. I might have to set it in the 1940's so I can switch between LMS and LNER as my plan was to run LMS trains in BR livery, but Dad destroyed those plans.
