Hello,

Before buying the TS2012, I would like to know what are the minimum PC requirements for running the game.
My computer has the following characteristics:

Windows Vista home premium 32 bit
RAM 2 Gb.
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU @ 2,4GHz

Graph. card nVidia GeForce 9300GE 256Mb.

Many thanks for your help

Minimum Specification
OS: Windows XP SP3
Memory: 1GB
Graphics: nVidia GeForce 7200
Processor: Pentium D 3.4GHz
Hard Drive: 16GB Free Space

Recomended Specification
OS: Windows Vista
Memory: 2GB
Graphics: nVidia GeForce 8800
Processor: Core 2 Duo
Hard Drive: 16GB Free Space

Is it too hard just to answer the questions?

Thanks everybody for the answers.

So, according to the specifications indicated in simulatorcentral web (the same as Mouse84 posted), my computer would be enough for a good game performance?

Windows Vista home premium 32 bit
RAM 2 Gb.
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU @ 2,4GHz

Graph. card nVidia GeForce 9300GE 256Mb.

What do you think?

Looking forward for your reply

Greetings

Toni

The only concern I would have is that 2GB is not a lot for both Windows Vista and Trainz to run together correctly. Most of us here have at least 4GB of RAM.

It will run, but not well. Note that the minimum spec calls for a Pentium D @ 3.4 MHZ. 2.4 MHZ is a bit slow and will be laggy, especially on larger routes with a lot of detail. Also, as Shane noted above, 2GB of RAM is really not adequate and will contribute to the lag as well as slow draw-in time.

Pentium D is a dual core, he has a quad core, the effective speed of that CPU would be faster than the Pentium D 3.4 even with a core 2 duo since it's the next generation microprocessor, with a quad core 2.4 it should run faster than the Pentium D 3.4.

As for posting links instead of direct answers, I do that too since my philosophy is;
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day.
Teach a man how to fish and you can loaf around while he does all the work after that.

I was just trying to prepare the O.P. to expect some lag and slow draw times with that set up unless he up grades his RAM and GPU.

RAM and GPU yes, CPU is better than recommended. OTOH the recommended specs are optimistic, some kind of video card with at least 512mb VRAM should actually be minimum.

Thanks a lot everybody for your answers. I really appreciate.

If I have understood well, the CPU I have is good enough for the game, but I must increase the RAM and change the graphic card with at least 512Mb...
Am I right?

Thanks once more for your help.

OK. Many thanks for helping me.

I will update my PC then, and I will tell you how the Trainz 2012 performs...

Greetings

Toni

Before you rush out and buy the first card you see, remember you'll not get a decent card for less than £100 or 125 euro.

As a general rule, the more ram you have the better. I also would buy a Graphics Card with at least 1GB of memory. You won't pay that much more than a 500MB GPU, and the difference in performance for a game, will be well worth it. Look up any prospective cards on this site, before you buy.

Yes, definitely at least 1GB on the GPU. Take a look at the nVidia GT430. Good card, not too expensive, runs cool and won't fry your PSU. However, you will need a vacant X-16 slot on your MOB.

Good enough for 20FPS (minimum) with my Intel i5, 6GB of RAM and WIN7-32 bit Ultra. Also, the 550ti is a two slot card. Many of us do not have the capability or PSU to use it.

That's true, you need two slots and at least 500Watt PSU. I bought the card and a 600 watt PSU at the same time for around $200.

Hello,

I was thinking about to increase de RAM to 4Gb (the maximum supported by the OS) and a graphic card GeForce GTX 560 Ti (1024Mb)...
Robert, thanks for posting the link. Very useful, but too much cards to check :D

Many thanks to all of you
