MILWAUKEE Road WEST – 1972

Celje

Oh, I don't feel offended.....it's OK to get the opinions of the users reflected !
That makes a better quality in the next work.
For the TS12 version - it was reworked by Yves in terms of faulty assets, but not in case of older foilage.
I saw your posts on your project and wish you a successful finish. Maybe you can join us is a next cooperation!

Neandertal

As i said:'' If you give me the permission I will make the revision of complete route from Rafinery to Louiseau. Of course it's the matter of free time, if i will have.''

Best regards

I think that's the good opportunity to explain why i insist in changing the old trees. We are not the users, we are makers of the routes.
N3V give us speed trees, Mcguier made a big effort with the beatiful package of the trees, same is pofig. Our, makers duty, is incorporate new assets, especially if it's the better and good looking. When i saw philskene's Port Ogden for TS12, I said that it's a regression not a progress, if we put in TS12 edition the old assets.
N3V made the big effort to clean TS from old stuff and we have not right to use them in new editions of TS. Why insist on old stuff if we have the better ones, we must respect this.

Celje - you have the permission!

  • in case you find the time to update any of the impressionz routes you're welcome....let me know.
When I start in 2002-3 to create routes, I also used an existing one from David Fiore from TAC. That was a good thing and I had positive experience in cooperations.
  • The speed trees - I appreciate the efforts done on these - really....but I don't like them all - especially in winter - some are good....I used them as you see on the MILWEST route!
  • To clean DLS from old stuff. That is a good thing although I've been phlegmatic with my old stuff - I have a bad conscience about it, really....and I try to redo my old trees asap....

Hello Neandertal

Thank you for your permission. I will use the original route Summer Lake Track between the stations Peers and Louiseau. My plan is to start with revision once in the summer of this year.

best regards

Hi Celje - Great, keep me informed.....

I'm surprised more people aren't commenting on this route. I've been having a ball on it.

All I've been doing is riding along with the AI's, 2 local passenger trains and 5 freight trains all running at once over single and dual tracks. I'm learning a lot about how the signals and AI's work together and how the AI's select paths and settle conflicts (or don't).

Pretty cool Neandertal, thanks a lot!

As for speed trees, meh. Just because someone offers you cool wiz bang stuff does not mean you have to use it. I can crank my graphics up to max on this route and only see an occasional stutter. I couldn't do that if there were speed trees. I only saw one tree and one bush that looked poor and after the first half hour I was ignoring them. Sure this could have higher resolution tracks but some of the layouts I've run with those have this darned lod distance that drives me crazy, having the track flash at me isn't something I can ignore.

I'll trade high quality graphics for clean operations any day.

Thanks again

Norm.

Hello Norm ....

Many Thanks for your kind words!

That the route isn't in the focus that much, depends also on the fact that my presence in this forum was poor in the last years. Regularely visiting content creators and members from creator groups have more attention and that is fine. I had my great time when I saw that my CANADA Impressionz route - Summer Lake Pass from 2005 has 29380 downloads. Also the good response in the community on our German Railroad and Model Fair booth in the past years.

The graphic performance was not the reason of using the older assets. I searched the DLS for better one's but e.g. the single track we used was the best matching in color, detail, time period and US prototype. Is that wrong, or can somebody show me better stuff at the DLS, which can be replaced in one go ?

Hi ,
MIL WEST has something above 800 downloads and @ 1800 users has seen these route promotion and intro.....
I'm wondering that there's so little feedback how this route works for you.......good - bad.....do you have fun or all is perfect, or something is wrong?
You're all so quiet ....(are you shy) .....this is spookie !!!!!!!!!

In the early morning hours the transcontinental MILW Train#12, 110 cars, over a mile long, and hauling over 5000 tons, barrels through the Milw West Sub pushing the speed limits with her four SD45's. All local traffic is routed to sidings as she pushes through on her way east making no stops in this division.

:D

I'm still having fun with this route. :hehe:
