MicroDem issue

Hi Folks,

Maybe someone can help me out? I recently had to reinstall MicroDem and I now have an issue where all the Tigers are "washed out" or dull and there's an overall haze / film over the terrain. I had this problem once before, but I can seem to remember how I fixed it. Thanks in advance!

Sorry Rick I don't recall that problem. I think default for map shading is reflectance - I usually change that to elevation before I do anything. Other than that - not a clue.

Just a hunch, but is the problem in the MicroDem tiger image, or is it that the created HOG route has discolored Tiger lines and a pinkish texture over the route? If it is in the latter, you have the wrong texture set loaded in HOG...

Thanks Guys,
Dermmy sent me in the right direction. I rebuilt my map without the Tigers and the problem disappeared, so I found the source of my woes. So I started digging and re-found the Wewain site and this great tutorial that I completely forgot about

http://freepages.misc.rootsweb.ance...rrainGeneration/Computer-generatedTerrain.htm

There is a default texture.txt that needs replaced with another and I didn't previously do it.

The great fishlips was my mentor in begining DEM creation, so obviously I've been making them for some time, but this goes to show that even us ol' dogs need a refresher once in a while. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction
