You do some awesome modeling

Good Morning!

Can I just say these models are fantastic!! You make some really great assets 😁 What do you model them in? And how do you generate your textures..? I really like the style you have going through this thread and all of these models have really nice textures without looking too OTT!

Thanks for now, Peter.

Thank you very much!
My Workflow goes like this:
1. Obtain original plans. My main source is the Architekturmuseum of the Technische Universitaet Berlin.
2. Import the drawing to Autosketch and scale it to 1:1
3. Create the contours and export them to a DXF
4. Import this to 3dsMax and create the 3d objects, mostly by using the Extrude function.
5. Then the mapping takes place with biggest seamless textures I can find. Until now I have a collection with about 4,500 files
6. If all the mapping is done I create in a second Map Channel, a map which is used for the Render To Texture process I do with V-Ray
7. Now all the objects are copied to another layer and the new rendered textures are assigned to them and exported to a lod file
8. Copied again to another layer, polygons reduced and so on until I get below 500 polygons

Et voila, a new Trainz asset is born :-)
