Merging Routes Map Problem

I am trying to merge routes, but am having a problem with the "patched-up" version of T12 that I did not have previously. I select the route I want to merge into the working route. The mini-map comes up where you position where you want the added boards to go. I used to have two sets of arrows - one to move the route being merged around in the route being merged into and another set to move the field of view of the map. Now I only have arrows on each side of the map area that move the route being merged, but none to move the field of view. The zoom out function does not zoom out far enough to permit me to see the end of the route where I need to place the other one.

Am I just missing something here? Or is there a bug with the merge function?

You only need the controls to move around the route being merged in. The receiving route, the one first loaded into surveyor, does not need controls in the merge window because the feature assumes you have already set that location by ordinary surveyor movement controls prior to selecting "merge route."

Also once the merge window is up, you can change your field of view by right clicking onto the mini-map

You can move the original route by right clicking on it in the mini map.
