I have spent hours trying to merge these 2 routes but simulator hangs up.... my computer has more than enough power (3.4 i7processor,,, 16 gig ram,,, velociraptor 10,000 rpm hard drive,,, 30 inch 4k monitor,,, gtx 770 2 gig video c.) this would be the ultimate south calif route..once it did merge but all track and objects disappeared from Cajun pass. can anyone help????the creator of Cajun pass extreme did a great job (looks like the real thing) I go up there every weekend to Hesperia from l.a.

Hi

If you're trying this in TS12 SP1 could it be the DRM on the built in Mohave route that's preventing the merge?

When I had SP1 I was able to merge a number of large routes and join them with portals, without problems. Just took a while to load it all up. My computer is much less in capabilities to yours. A Cloned Mohave was one of them along with Cajin Pass Extreme.

There's no reason why you can't merge the routes unless the total route size, as seen in Content Manager, exceeds about 700 MB. Anything over this size gets a bit sketchy and even if the route is merged together, TS12 its self can't load it up.

Another time I produced a 1.5GB route in TransDEM. The route was created fine, but CM wouldn't even load it. TADDaemon actually threw up and crashed during the process. I ended up trimming and cutting the route down into multiple sections and created two routes out of it which both loaded up fine, however, merging them together proved a problem as I could then only handle that large route in that version of Trainz. The route merged together and worked fine, however, saving it to a CDP and trying to load that into TS12 again killed CM.

It's nothing to do with TS12 but more of a file system issue as this is a 32-bit program and is probably running out of memory.

about how long did it take?

I don't know all the terms...what is the drm

DRM = Digital Rights Management, which for Trainz means stuff is locked and can't be merged, copied, edited or changed in any way.

With the original built-in items, prior to SP1, it was possible to make your own copy of a route and do what you wanted with it. I'm not sure if this is the case after SP1 HF4 aka Build 61388 as payware content, such as the Murchison 2 route, can't be edited at all.

It usually took 3 or 4 minutes to load. Because I had a lot of portals. Once loaded it ran quite well(for TS12).
I could run about a dozen trains on the route with no problems. Even where I had a main central yard with 2 or 3 trains in it at the same time it coped ok.
Cheers,
Mike
