Hyper thats a great job you are doing there, havnt been to Melb but it looks awfully busy !!!

Looks like you need some of my trams to fill the roads a bit. Your ordered B1's will be on their way soon. I have them in Bergundy, White, Yellow Green and Grey. I also have 20 desinations, if you need more then just shout.

Melbourne Roads

Hi all.

I have been to Melbourne, and these screenshots bring back many memories of a great holiday, but I was just wondering... What are the roads used in these screenshots called? Are they on the DLS?

Hey guys thanks for the feedback... i dont even live in melbourne either.. i am in brisbane 3000km ish away.. ive been on hoilday there about 5 times... and just looking at google earth and flicker and vicsig as ref points for areas... as well as my 1000 of holiday snaps lol... Hoping to move by end of year down there...

keep in mind there is only so much you can recreate in trainz... so there is heaps of things that arnt like the real city :)


To answer the road question (grey area) i serched google for a good "road surface" image and changed one of the texture paint thingy files.

The lines and markings are from either ptram or one of the other non english web sites that has taken mths to figure out... its been trial and error...
But all the markings are their own spline so ive laid it all.

I have heaps of things downloaded that i really could not tell you where they were from..

Same as changing others files with an images, name/s or somthing like the citadis tram... I have basically copyed and renamed them to eg "YARRA COMBINO FRONT" "YARRA TRAM TRACK 2 TRACK" "YARRA PLATFORM STOP" etc etc that keeps everything easy to find

So if the thought of uploading it came to mind.. id have a huge task of working out who each item belonged to and asking "please sir ive changed ya file"

The citadis trams avail are good but still dont look like the melb ones.. the body shape is differant.

Thanks Barn still be great to be able to apply full body ads at will (free) :)

Wow!! That is amazing! You have put a lot of work into that and look forward to seeing it on the DLS. :D

This is a little late though, so I can understand if you've put the project to rest.

Just out of Curiosity, How is your Route Going? From the screenies it looks Great and I can see a resembalance between Melbourne and this.

hi guys, randomly popping in to see whats going on. and seeing about the 2010 updates...

I really have not been doing much in way of the game the last 3-4 mths. been traveling and and just life really.. plus ive been playing citys xl

ill up load some pics of a few small things ive done over the last few mths.

i used a square building i found in the game.. or got it from a site cant remember.

And changed the image file from what it was to the best image i could find on the net of flinders st.

And placed a few next to each other.
 
Could you have a big sign on your description on the DLS saying 'sorry I used your items and changed them and if you want I will give you full credit on the Forums' So you could release them?

I don't think that a heck of alot of people would mind you changing their file for this awesome piece of work

Well on that one you would be very surprised, if you have gone to all the trouble to get the texture to fit then thats the hard part make a box in gmax and it would be you own building anyway.
