Melbourne Trams

Wee bit puzzled here. There is mention in this thread of a Beta of a Connex tram but the link I see seems to be a Forum?

Love it! And I see you did buy barn700's citadis...
Freeware or payware (the route, that is, and of course if it's going to be released at all)

thanks for comments, i am really only doing for fun did not really have a finish and release in mind.

The yellow trams are the citadis repainted and the latest one from PTRAM web site.

I am yet to decide if i want barn's version i can do alot more with the versions i have in way of repainting.

what i really want is this

the tram is on the DLS as BN BD LRV A there are a few various designs

ive just repainted it, this tram has a very easy to repaint file image

Yes it would, but as the files are only on my puter there should not be any problems :p

Speaking of your trams... all yours are having problems they wont even re download from the dls there is errors galore.

Hyper,

Don't mean to poop your party here, but I think that he wanted you to ask before reskinning. Some authors prefer it this way, so they can track reskins(possibly because if someone reskins an item; they'll have the info of the person's reskin and ask for a pic before release). If you ever want to reskin something, you should look in the config file, where the license is. I've run into this issue before with a train of Dave's(Nexusdj), so I know what he means.

It's a nice tram though :)

I get your point, but i still don't see the problem when its only me using it.
If i was hand out the files or put it on DLS then sure id ask.
Like any copyrighted item if you use for your own personal use there is no breach of copyright but the moment i give to another person or persons or up load to internet i brake that terms.

And i have not broken anything in his "terms"

Chill people its not a blockbuster movie:)

There is no problem, I was just surprise seeing this reskin which looks fine.

About problems when you try to redownload it, what are the errors ?

It's clear that you are a talented asset creator  so plz don't take offense at any of the following:

There are a few problems with your tram set:

The first problem is that there are a number of sets with the same name - I understand you made different versions, and posted new versions each time, but I find DLS's behaviour about different asset versions to be ... less than straightforward.

The second flaw (probably not your fault) is that some of the dependancies are not to be found via CMP, and I was advised on these forums to look on the web version of Download station, which seems to be more of an anachronism designed for TRS2004 and earlier than anything else. The Web interface is even more dreadful than CMP, which I didn't think was possible

. While I can probably download the two assets in question, as they seem to be there, for Dublin Unit 1 and Orleans Unit 1 (which is only missing one) is for all intents and purposes, off DLS content, which I have the objective of avoiding on a route I'm working on, along with anything requiring end-user editing. Though given that the only other modern tram sets (Ice Tram project and descendant projects) depend on a boget that has tag errors, I will clearly need to be flexible on these points.

The 3rd flaw affects your Orleans Unit 3, which has a load of attachment point errors. My asset editing skills are limited so I'm not sure what those errors mean.

You're right, I'd posted several version. On DLS (web version), you see only the latest one but on ContentManager you see all the versions. On ContentManager, old versions are well note as obsolete but still visible, it's a problem of ContentManager !

Same problem as for first point !

I put the Orleans unit 3 by error on DLS, so on DLS (web version) this content is now "invisible" but on ContentManger this content still visible ! One more time, problem of ContentManager.
To be clear, Unit 3 and 4 doesn't exist for Orleans' version. See documentation http://den.dev.free.fr/TRS2004/public/docs/Tutorial_tram_Citadis_girouette_fr.pdf latest page (PS : Citadis 302 and 402 are not on DLS).

Your points about CMP may be true - and I know from experience what a pain in the rear end CMP can be - but all the same I would suggest cloning all the current trams and their dependencies, and posting a new version (lets say version 2) that only uses the clones with no "built in" version history.

Because your stuff on CMP is, I'm sorry to say, a total mess.
