................ on how to fence off the tracks to keep idiots out.

........... then you have idiots who take advantage of the lack of security & boundaries, to endanger themselves & others for personal ideology
as in "I'll do as I like, sod you" attitude, like strolling across tracks with no care for anyone else ?
Guess who would be the first to "sue" if they got hurt ? ...............

...... moments before I took these pics, that group of people were actually walking down the track that the departing train is using. :(

Uh...you know, sometimes I REALLY hate this country. It's idiots like that lot there that give us a bad rap.

.
I wonder if they have any warning signs so that any potential law suits could be defended.

Ever thought about this common UK sign. There are hundreds of them.

Reading it literally, this only applies to passengers. Anyone not travelling on a train can therefore, I assume, ignore this and walk wherever they want.

Maybe the US use similar wording!

We use a sign that says "No Trespassing." So naturally that means any one can freely walk where ever they want because of the "We're not here to steel any thing, we just want to look around. So its not trespassing" mentality.

And yea, I have meet people who have told me that. They started walking down the track where they weren't supposed to and I pointed out the sign. They replied with "I'm not steeling any thing or going to damage any thing, so its ok."

Which of course, it was not ok.

Hi all

First off, please keep in mind that inappropriate language is not permitted on the Trainz forums. Blackwatch, please remove any non G rated language (such as the first work in the second image), as this is not appropriate on the forums.

As it is, I've seen footage of much the same situations at railways in most countries, I wouldn't say the US is any worse or better. It really depends on the railway itself. Please refrain from making attacks on any particular country, as again this isn't appropriate (as we've outlined many times previously).

At my local railway (Puffing Billy, in Victoria, Australia), we regularly need to ask people to not stand on the tracks. Most people don't realise just how dangerous railways can be, particularly where narrow gauge operations (which are shown in your pics, and is the case for my 'local') as the trains are so much smaller than they are used to, and tend to move relatively slowly.

I can't find the videos, but one in the UK, and one on the BM&R in the US a railfan got clipped by a passing train ... thats what bridges and telephoto lens's are for !

What is it that you have against Americans blackwatch? Their no different to us, except theyre American. I find it funny how the Americans don't post threads like this, but you do and make the Americans feel bad and post things like sawyer811's post (which incidentally isn't entirely true he's just from Yorkshire :hehe:). Just my 2 pennys worth

I can't speak for all the Americans on the forums, but at least personally, I know I gave up on trying to post stuff like this because frankly, the stupidity in this nation is so rampant that I need to keep my spirits up somehow...

We don't have a lock on it by any means... :D

Hi all,

If you want a true story of rank stupidity, beat this if you can; when back in the late 1970s, i was a top rank guard on BR, the croprate blue era, and the best!!!, still, two of mymates who had just passed out for top rank guard duties used to be shunters and piloted the dobbin around Saltly and the ajoining area, (dobbing = 08 class shunter).

This particular night they were on duty and trundeling along chatting and just heading back to the BOP, ( booking on point), when thump thumop thump!!!!!!!!, the wheels made this awfull noise.

Now, being like we all were at that time, gung hoe and what the hell, they took the idea to revers the 08 and, yep thump thumop thump, upon which they stoped the shunter aplied full brackes and climbed down only to find..............a tramp with the lower part of his leg just above his ankel, the right one i belive, nicely cut clean through, so they immediatley call the emergency services BT police and get it sorted out.

WELL, the tramp got a solicitor to sue BR for wilful neglect causing actual bodily harm etc etc etc; BR then counter sued the tramp for, get this, trespass and,................damage to BR stock namely the said 08 dobbin, in this caes actual damage to the 6 wheel set, caused when his lower leg got cut off and made a mess of the dobbins wheels.......the tramp withdrue his claim........:hehe:

YES they were the good old days when we had a great company to back you up:p

mckinnell......aka Tom......

Its safer by train...........( unless your a tramp)

They say 'the past is a foreign country' don't they, but BR in the 1970s was more like a different planet compared to what we have now! :hehe:

When you get right down to it, the 1970's as a whole was more like a different planet compared to what we had before and after!:hehe:
