Marta CQ312 reskin to DC Metrorail

out of curiocity.... what door chime would fans of the metro like to hear preferably? .... I have all the time in the world to make them..... just point me in the direction you want... and away i'll go!!!!

good day,

Nick

I like the new one. Today they were running a test train on the Blue Line and it had LED's instead of the current interior bulbs, a newer voice and even newer chime. I dont know if its here to stay but it was really suprising!

I still can't believe how nice they have made that system....... Its one of my favorite US subways....... just for the way they have it layed out,...

so Is there a video of this new "test train"? horns, chimes, etc.......?

we need some better subway horns in this game.....and if theres any good sound recordings I can take a stab at making a few variations of the Washington Metro Subways

good day,

p.s..... Any progress on the underground station roofs? or concrete supports?

Sorry I didn't catch a vid. Our Orange Line Train pulled in and it was already sitting there. I believe it was at the Captial South station (Orange/Blue). But anyways I was too awestruck to think about what to do and then it left. I should have at least looked fro the #'s. Im thinking it is just a recently overhauled/refurbished set because they haven't bot any new cars recently.

I saw that car about a few days ago, didn't hear the chimes though, what were they like?

I like the older "Ding dong - please stand clear of the doors - thank you" but for Trainz, having the current one would be best I think.

They were still a two tone deal, I dont really remember much. However the voice had a different script then the classic as you have quoted. It was something like (not exactly). "Thank you for riding Metro. Please stand clear of the doors so the train may proceed." Too long in my taste but its just a demo.

Kind of related, saw this just a few minutes ago at Cleveland Park, first time I've seen anything other than a Metro car in these stations!

Unfortunately only had my iPhone on me, which doesn't react so well in low lighting conditions.

I saw two of those parked in a station a while ago. I think it was Navy Archives or something. They had two on one platform and they had a third in the tunnel lifting out a switch.

These are contracted out and you may notice the knuckle couplers and the lack of Metro logos. They use these on regular railroads. The only access point from railroad to Metro track is a connection in the Greenbelt Yard. There used to be one in the Springfeild Yard but it has since been removed.

Fake But Interesting Map

I found this map online what do you guys think. click on the map for a better view.

If this were the wmata in 2030 then it maybe able to compete with nycta with track mileage and passangers per mile.
notes: third to last stop on the silver line is dulles intl airport, Last stop on the green line is Baltimore thurgood mashall intl airport. The centre track at national airport station is being removed and is going to be replaced with some thing else maybe a large vendor like wmata proposed on some of the redline stations.
