All for personal use of course :) .

Or did the license of TransDem change and you can now do this for others?
I leave that last question for geophil, as I really would like to know.

I have commented on this issue a few times before. The TransDEM license itself is not very restrictive. But we also have the "Fair use" and "Threshold of originality" concepts and these have worked pretty well over the last 10 years. In particular I don't mind if Trainz route builders help each other with TransDEM creations on a personal basis. You typically have this situation in group projects. What I do not like is people advertising TransDEM route templates as a kind of catalogue or factory service. I think that's rather easy to understand and has not caused ill feelings in the past.

I agree ... one should not start a business, creating custom DEM's, and selling custom DEMs, on a commission, for a monetary payment

Now if a person made a DEM for someone for free ... and the end user eventually ends up selling that completely finished DEM route, as a payware route ... that is a gray area

This has nothing to do with commercial use which would be a breach of the personal use license terms. Read about "Fair use" and "Threshold of originality" in wikipedia. It will give you the idea.

I said nothing about selling and your post p..d me off

The reason I am able to do the maps is someone gave me the whole of Victoria in pdf 1:25000 maps
