Hello friends.
I've spent some time searching for a problem of this kind (solved) here but had no luck.
I am a TRS2004+SP4 user. For the past years I was building a huge map system. It was published in few versions. I cut and joined the system many times, added new parts, liquidated old ones, replaced some pieces with new ones etc. Eventually it was modified somewhat a hundred times basing on the first original file 3 years old now, many times however saved under a new name, kuid and such.
Lately after separating the system again to smaller pieces (in order to built quicker and the join into something bigger) I noticed that together with joining the maps to a final stage, the process of joining gets longer and longer. Earlier it was long, but the map was runing quite smooth in all modes. I cleared the map from all "hanging in nowhere" trackage and such, saved under a diffrent name etc, but the loading time is horrible. The map was built quite economically, it is also about 30% smaller (125km) then the original first version (180km).
Funny thing that the 1st version is running quite smooth, but the last one, after all that joining achieves a horrible loading time. And I mean horrible, cause 10-15 minutes of loading on a 2,4ghz dual core IP4 with 2 gigabytes of ram and a 512mb gf6600 card is really much. I can imagine people on less powerfull machines getting real mad about this. Other then that the map works smooth, even with a large amount of cars and locos in a session. No slideshow at all.
So the question is: Is there anything I can do to shorten this loading time to an acceptable lenght? Some way to clear the file of the map from this something that keeps it loading so long? Or maybe there is a thread I missed treating about solving problems of this sort... or anything!
I would be very gratefull for any help here.
Regards, Peter Kilanowski aka KilanZiom.
