Yards

There is a video on Youtube about this...but I will try find it, and to explain it tomorrrow. Away from Trainz, my PC and home keyboard. PM me, and remind me tomorrorw, and I will post something on Surveyors Operators and Engineers, about yards.

Hi heaven --

Those curves in your first screen shotz are just way to sharp.

I'd suggest using templates for both curves and switches. There are a heap on the Download Station. For general track work I find kuid 37522:9994 very useful - and try to use a radius no less than 200m.

Using just this template you should find this none too hard:

try this

hi im no expert but looking at the top pic of your yard you need to do 2 simple things. 1-read 2006 manual it comes with 2oo9 world builder....next very important and a quick tip==lay a piece of track then always click straighten track! its very important that would fix the yard up-also do some work then save /exit and return again so if you mess up you dont louse so much time...good luck........straighten track is the easy way to fix it !

As for fixing that particular yard, the first thing I would do would be to open up the lead. From the main line make a 90 degree curve, run a straight line all the way across the yard, then make another 90 degree curve to bring the track into the center of your last set of tracks.
Each cluster of service tracks would have its own lead coming off the straight section that runs across the front of your yard. After each lead is attached, don't forget to use the straighten tool, because the straighten will only be applied to one side of the new spline point. The other will lose the straightness and will get a bit of curve.
If the turnouts are still too rough, you may need to move the lead farther from the building, or vice versa.
Your concept looks good, It just needs some tweaking to make it come out right.
