Making Road Parts

Hi all

I could use some help with info to do with building roads. I want to make a stand-alone t-intersection that will automatically allow cars to move in all directions (without lights and stops at this stage).

I have found several on the system, however they are from old build versions and do not work properly in the latest Trainz. One of them (Sen City Road Switch) uses the turntable mode, but I can not find info on how to build a working turntable (in Blender) so I can understand it and try to fix the problem. Another one (YARNish) and uses the “mocrossing” mode which is controlled through scripts.

Could someone please enlighten me as to which is the best method I should use, to be compatible with the latest Trainz and where I can find info or examples of them?

Hi Richard,

I'm not sure you will find a way to do this in Tane. My Sen City Road Switch was a bending of the rules even pre Tane.

Literally because it ‘bent’ the road just after a spline point by pulling it on a transfer table. As traffic in Trainz always turns left at a junction, it meant you could pull the road to go either left or right... so you had a switch.

In Tane however, if you do this the spline points all disconnect. It already pulls the road the absolute minimum to work so I think it’s a dead end with that idea.

I’m interested in the other ‘YARNish device you have found. What’s it’s kuid number and name?

Hi boat

Here is the info
kuid <kuid2:506208:100114:2>
username "YARNish T-Intersection L2 -3Si +2Sh-1Sh, 09sp4"
trainz-build 3.1

I didn't have any luck getting it working
As i'm working in the 1900-1940 i have low traffic numbers
so I have now changed to making the roads with train track ( invisible )
This way, i can send cars and trucks to different point and load them.
I have also made a animated horse and cart , it works responsibly well
