Make a locomotive a product?

Hey all, milwaukeeroad261 here

I was just wondering if there's a way that you can make a steam engine (say a 30" Logging 0-4-2T) and change it to a product that can be loaded onto a flatcar. If there is a way to, how?

That seams like it could be done, I dont know how. But to expand on your idea. Could it be possible that once that locomotive is delivered, it could appear on the NG tracks.

This could be done using the mesh-asset tag (including using this to 'collate' the bogies, and any other 'submeshes' into the load).

Since you would only be referencing the meshes, and not actually modifying, you should not experience any issues unless the creator specifically says that the item cannot be referenced as a dependency (in this case, you would be prohibited from using it in sessions, since sessions reference in basically the same way).

As always, check the asset's license first :)

If you wish to see how the mesh-asset tag works, take a look at the 'buggy' load for my VR 'G' carriage truck on the Download Station (found under the username 'S301'). This uses the mesh-asset tag to reference a scenery object to create the load (it also actually 'moves' the mesh, using appropriate tags, to make placing the attachment point easier).

EDIT: Note, the mesh-asset function is only available in TS2009 and newer.
