You gotta be joking me...
Since everyone helped me with upgrading my software to the latest version, I've been having a blast with the Mojave sub. Very fun and interesting.
However, the quickdrive. Sigh. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
I thought I'd just drive around. Clicked on quickdrive and spent an hour trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. No engines, not really. I just wanted to drive the next district I'm going to try without being in an actual game yet (I knew Mojave from MSTS, but the rest of these routes are new).
Finally I came onto the forums and looked around and found someone with the same question. There was a nice set of instructions on how to go into the consists and build a train for your own use.
My question - why wasn't a short train added to the available out-of-the-box consists? This is where people who are new to this game (and this interest) are going to go first. "Let me just drive a train around..." they will think, because, obviously, that's what quickdrive implies.
It isn't called OpenUpSurveryorAndLearnHowToPlaceTrackLocateAndAddCarsAndThenSaveThemSoYouCanQuickdriveThem
It's called Quickdrive.
There should be a standard set of engines for people to mess with. As it stands, this is a lot more than a lot of first time casual players are going to be interested in learning. They just want to drive a train, you know?
Still, wonderful game. Good brake handling (Like TrainMaster) and great scenery (like MSTS). Enjoying it a lot...
...especially since I now have a little consist to dart around with. :hehe:
