Saving you two latest copies of the route to a CDP, on a Re-Writable DVD-RW hard disk is an invaluable tool.

Always delete all but the last two copies of your route, and keep the two as a backup should your route or PC go: PooF:confused:

Hi hel1man ,
Which version of trainz do you have? And what exactly did you delete?
Do you still have your local folder in tacked?

Have you looked in the trash can? If you haven't emptied it your route might be there. Also if you are running Norton - it has a recovery function.

Cascaderailroad is correct - backup to at least 2 different (preferably external) places. I do to 2 external drives and 1 internal drive (me heap big chicken).

Plus, not sure about older versions but 2009 has a trash folder and every time I have had a crash it seems to collect assets in there, I haven't lost anything yet from a crash but on a couple of occasions I have found a copy of my route in there, as well as the possibly the bad asset that caused the problem....... worth a look anyway

I back up to a server I run here plus I also save the route daily to a cdp file PC's here plus I also save the route daily to a cdp file.

I'm not familiar with 2009 but the trash can idea sounds hopefull and if you back up daily to a server and other places perhaps all is not lost - just todays production. I'm look in the normal trash can too.

Good luck,

Ben

I’m sorry, but I won’t be of any help as I don’t use 2004, That the one that uses Trainz Objects, and I don't know a thing about that, the only thing I could suggest is to try System Restore, but that’s a long shot at best.
