Hi hope somebody can help. I lost my trainz 2009off my computer,it would load up then fade out, I was told I needed a extenderd data base repair, I started it up and it worked up to a point I got five blue squares then it stopped and shut down. I took trainz 2009 off and then reinstalled it, the same thing happend I was told to do an extendered data base restore again and again it got so far then shut down. I then tried a system restore and when I tried to launch trains I got this message, failed to load trainz launcher background image c programs files trainz simulator 2009 / bin launcher/images- us main -back up bpm. Can anybody help me as I am lost at what to try next. I just want to get trainz 2009 up and running again. Thank you.

Backup your trainz data folders immediately to another drive or dvds. This sounds like your Windows installation is corrupted and needs to be reinstalled, and perhaps the drive formatted first.

The errors you are getting now don't sound like a Trainz-related errors this is why I'm saying this. Besides, it's good to have a backup anyway.

Hi thanks to all trains forum members who tried to help me ( all one person) I thought forum members were there to help each other, every time I post a question I am lucky if I get one reply, were are all these forum members who try to help with problems, they must have disappeared. So mutch for forum members help each other, thanks to the one member who tried to help me. Trainz is off my computer now and I cannot see a way of getting it back, I have tried everything I know to try and fix my problem with no luck so my trainz days are over for now.

We are here Mallard, but many off us are in different countries and often here at odd hours that's why you may seam alone, I have been using trains for some time now and are still a newbee at this.
Sounds like a VIRUS of some sought!! may need some serious checking (we do get them even me a win programmer..
Uninstall, empty recycle bin, run de fragment, run a reliable AV and Malware program, then if ok reinstall as administrator, run EDR after and reboot.
Good luck

PS I found 800 malware the other day on mine.

I would suggest you run a disk check and a memory check and check for overheating.

With Disk errors it may appear to be OK until a program tries to write data to the defective area, same applies with memory.

XYZ program may run perfectly where as ABC program crashes or locks up.

If you have a look at event viewer for errors and warnings it can often save time in locating the cause of crashes and lockups.

Sorry you feel that way Mallard. I have found these forums to be a great help over the years and the Trainz Community are a pretty decent bunch on the whole. The reason I did not respond to your post is that I have never had any kind of computer training and havn,t got a clue as to what your problem is. The only place I have actually leant anything is through these forums funnily enough. After reading all these posts my only suggestion is to bite the bullet and pay a professional. Or you could bin your computer and buy a new one if you are rich.:)
