Lost sound from steam locomotives

It worked yesterday but today there was a beta update that I installed. Now, no sound from steam engines of version 2.9. The assets show no errors. I loaded a session from C&O Clinton and the steam engine has sound.

Anyone else have problems? Is there a solution?

Thanks,
Randall

You might check with shebashetan7 he is very well versed on Whistle issues and he creates Whistle sounds.......

I don't think there is a way to roll back updates, but report that issue to be checked out for the next patch. I only touch official final updates, never mess around with beta patches.

If it's a bug report it. That's all you can do at this point.

This is why I always have a backup of everything I do and do my testing in a test version located on a separate drive. If the test version becomes the next upgrade, I then backup my old install and move over to the new one. I keep these saved backups always in case there's a whoops somewhere that breaks things.

Which specific version update do you refer to as there were several. I just opened a C&O Hinton session in TRS19 beta 105096 and Trainz Plus 105100 - whistle worked as normal.

It's not the whistle, it's the chuff chuff sounds that are missing or not playing. I too, as stated in the OP, loaded up C&O and the steam engine worked okay.

It seems to be an issue with the engines I am using on my route. They are older version 2.9 from togog downloaded from the DLS. Again, they worked fine before the update.

I know all about keeping multiple versions and backups. I choose not to do that. It's my Trainz and I'm sticking to it. I posted the problem to find out if anyone else was having the problem and if anyone had a fix for it.

Did some more investigating and testing today. Togog locomotive class 40 2-6-0 KUID 2:222925:20000:3 has no chuff chuff sound. In the same class KUID2:222925:21000:3 does have the chuff sound. So it seems to NOT be an issue with TRS19 and the latest update but the assets instead.

The locomotives that don't have sound, (there are several), have no errors. They were all obtained from the DLS.

Any asset detectives that would be kind enough to dive into this one would be appreciated by this guy.
