Can anyone help find my lost routes i built two routes and they are gone and can't find them when i try to open them it says their is no maps and i can't find them in my surveyors list of routes.
What version are you running? If it's 04 go into the Cache folder and delete all the folders that have the word chump in them. I counted 12 folders on my machine. Then restart the game and let it rebuild all the files and your routes should show up. In 06 find the assets.tdx file and delete that. Restart the game and let it rebuild this file. Wait for a answer for my question below.
Before you do this would someone with more knowledge than me confirm that the advice I gave is correct.
I can confirm you are correct on the information given but I do need to clarify a couple of points:
UTC/TRS2004 (may also apply to earlier versions): Only delete .chump files that start with cache_ unless someone else says otherwise (deleting the wrong .chump file can cause unwanted effects) - can someone else let me know if I am wrong there - that is what I had to do previously. (The most likely culprit will be the cache_dispatcher.chump file which holds information on third party (not built in content))
TRS2006 (may also apply to later versions): You may also need to delete assets.bku as well (which is in the Cache folder) then leave Trainz to rebuild the files (this will happen when Start is clicked on the first (Launcher) screen)
If I have missed anything else or have given any incorrect information, can someone please let me know.
Shane
EDIT: the .chump files begin with world_cache_ not just cache_
Just a point on the 04 chumps. Any map or content you have in your custom folder will be built everytime you start trainz 04. there is no chump file for these. Any downloaded maap you alter will save into your custom folder.
