Hi, could someone please shed some light on a small problem that I have. Whilst using Trainz 2009 whilst in Surveyors mode & during Driving mode the floor appears in white and all the ground textures cannot be seen. I have attached two pictures one showing the problem and one view the other direction which seems to be OK.

I am hoping this is a video setting that I can alter instead of changing my graphics card. That by the way is a 256Mb ATI Radeon X1300 Series which is within the recommended spec. Please can someone help me as this is driving me nuts.

Try upgrading your video drivers to the latest, you haven't said you tried different drivers.

You may want to look here in order to download them. (http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html)

Perhaps you've inadvertantly stumbled upon the settings for SUMMER/WINTER ground textures?
Interesting in that the white does show texture, so just the color is removed? Are you using Dx or OGL and have you tried the other?

While we're on the subject does windows vista update all drivers as well as windows itself through windows update? Trainz don't run too well but my comp tells me that the drivers are up to date, but I have to be sure as I may need a new graphics card but don't want to spend the cash unnecessarily.

Cheers

@RCresswell - Firstly, welcome to the forums.

Secondly - You have stumbled across a slight bug in TS2009, well not a bug, more of a problem with how the texture was made. There has been mention of it over on TrainzDev.

The new textures that have been made for TS2009 don't suffer from this effect.

@bassist118 - Vista will only update it's own drivers. Drivers for your Graphics Card/Sound Card etc will need to be manually updated by visiting the relevent manufacturers website and downloading the latest driver set.

Thank you all for replying to my problem. I haven't tried updating my vid driver for a while, so I will try that first. Secondly I'm running Win XP NOT the Vista Sh#t! Will also try updating the textures. Will let you know the outcome!

Thanks Again

Lol you're lucky, vista is burnt into my hard drive it'll take a neculear fallout to get rid of vista. Sorry bout hyjacking your thread but I had to ask as I'm having sort of the same prob.

Try adjusting the sliders in the options. It could be trying to hard to render things and running out of space on the card. I had the same problem with 06 displaying train cars until I dialed down the rendering.
The performance and reliability of Vista can be greatly improved by reformatting the hard drive a few times and then installing something else.
