I need some help I just got TRS12 and I am looking for a station that has 5 or 8 platforms. I have spent like over 1 hr looking for one can’t find one are there any. Don’t care what county it’s from. Please help. Love TRS so fare so much to put in a lay out just cant find this one thing.

There are (i think) some AJS stations builted in that u can use for do the platforms for loading. And later u need to lay the platforms that there are in the splines panel. Objects menu -> S

Meanwhile, back on topic, I generally build multi-platform stations using individual parts. They include tracks that have attached platforms and unattached platforms pieces to fill in the gaps. By giving the platforms common names with a track number, it is easy to recognize them as all belonging to the same station when issuing driver commands. Other pieces like buildings, canopies, fences, ramps, etc are added to complete a station.

Having a single object for all of these pieces might make it easy to place but is very limiting in that all copies in a route would look exactly alike, plus since it is not possible to modify the exact configuration of the platforms, you would need many variations with a different number of tracks and configurations to cover many possibilities. May as well have a set of parts.

Another reason to scratch build stations

I do use the built in tram stations that originally were in TC1&2 for some light rail stations. But for suburban rail, everything is scratch built starting with the invisible stations and adding on from there. Doing so allows you to make sure the platform height is just right. My suburban rail uses Bombadier BiLevel equipment (ie, Seattle's Sounder). Here is what works for me:
1. Set the invisible station(s) in place. Don't worry about passenger height yet.
2. Place 1 passenger car in the station.
3. Place a platform spline alongside. Now look closely and adjust the spline height up or down so that the height is just right, ie, at or just below the bottom of the passenger car's doors
4. Now go back to the invisible station and adjust the passenger height so that the passengers are not floating but their shoes are just visible on the platform spline.
5. Delete the passenger car and complete the station with platform roofs, signs etc etc.

Also, for two-track suburban stations, I will often use 2 1-track stations instead of 1 2-track station. Why? By using 2 1-track stations, I can space them apart to match the 2-track grade crossing nearby and keep the two tracks totally parallel between the station and the crossing.
