Looking for industries

I just got a lot of Jointed Rail wellcars, etc. and I was wondering if there is any industries on the DLS that serve the containers and trailers.
If not, is there any websites or something on Jointed Rail I missed?

Dave Snow has a WalMart Distribution Center, JR has a McLane Distributors, Auran has a Seaport which I have disabled but you may like it or just build your own seaport, distribution center or whatever. You can drop off the containers there and have trucks delivering them where needed. It's your RR so make up your own reasons. I think there are container yards out there (dls) you'll just have to search. Have fun.

The thing about this is: Any MIN will or can be configured to load and unload any commodity (there are some exceptions). But if you want an industry where you can see the actual commodity appearing or disappearing, that is another matter. I have been able to download industries that show coal, sand, general goods and logs piling-up at track side. Check in the Hungarian website and some Russian and Spanish sites (DLS has some). I wish there is an easier way to show commodities, as it is on cargo cars.

As I recall, the Tidewater Point Route by Trainz Pro Routes has at least two "industries" for trailers or containers, a seaport and a container / trailer yard. Don't remember if they are interactive or not, though. Also, as I recall, the HP Trainz Marias Pass route contains an industry which loads and unloads piggyback trailers.

So are you sure they work with the containers and trailers?

What does downloading industries showing coal piling up, russians, and hungarians have to do with Jointed Rail Containers?

Sir, can you read what JointedRail.com's containers are?

Does anyone even know what Jointed Rail containers are!
The link shows what I'm talking about and re-read my post.

Hi TrainTech1350

After being so offensive to the people who have tried to help you so far, I think you will be very lucky to find anyone willing to help you further.

Regards

Brian

So do they serve what I am talking about?
What does downloading industries showing coal piling up, russians, and hungarians have to do with Jointed Rail Containers?

This is offensive to you.

Okay I might as well sell my Trainz software and delete my account for being "offensive". It's not like being stabbed for someone to tell you to try reading, I'm just trying to figure out something!

Hi

So you think that this part of your post wouldn't be offensive to the people who tried to help - particularly the last line?

Sir, can you read what JointedRail.com's containers are?

The link shows what I'm talking about and re-read my post, or learn to read before that.

You know what, have it your way. I will never receive help thanks to fools like you. I'm done with this, I am trying to get the people to know what I'm talking about and you're going to be like that kind of person to me.
Lock this thread up, nobody gives a crap.

Whoa!! Everyone take a step back and relax. What may be offensive to some is just a question to others. As for my post, you have to use a MIN to load or unload trailers. Using JR's weathered trailer and wellcars the trailer will appear in the wellcar. When unloaded they will not appear any place else. You can add them as scenery if you wish. Hope that helps.

Oh you came suddenly.
Well thank you very much and sorry for the trouble. You mentioned JR has an industry and containers, but I felt the same as I did on mjolnir, I thought you two were talking about normal Auran containers.

Well my mistake too, and since I almost started a major argument and said things what may be offensive to others, Kennilworth, go ahead, think of me as an fight-starting idiot.

OK - I suspect I might be entering a lion's den and be in danger of getting my head bitten off, but I'll risk it anyway.

See my post #3 here:

which links to this tread:

You could do much worse than download the route and session and take it to pieces to see how it's set up.

These two show containers. they're just track and a little platform.

Oops, they're Auran containers. Well that's what config files are for. right?

philskene, no instead, I'll heal your head wounds.
So I just use a Multiple industry or configure one to suit my needs. But what about the double stick thing, what if the industry loads the top but not the bottom, what am I supposed to do?
I was referring to 0:42 in philskene's video.

it uses the attachment points in order within the traincar's queue

But what about the double stick thing, what if the industry loads the top but not the bottom, what am I supposed to do?

It was a while ago that I was messing around with this (was actually putting Auran containers into the queues of a wellcar set) and yes, it was loading the top containers first. I might be making this up, but I seem to recall that it had something to do with the order of the queues in the traincar (Industry will use the 1st queue that fits the product) and I'm dead certain it uses the attachment points in order within the traincar's queue.

So if it loads wrong for one industry it will load wrong for all that load the same product.

Have you opened assets for edit in explorer? This is a pretty good first project. It's a fairly simple task to reorder the attachment points in the list in the config.sys file. (you can also allow the cars to take whatever containers you need).

I started with camera placement in loco interiors. That took a bit of trial and error. (The new outside cams have me stymied a bit, I can add attachment points for them, I just can't remove [or move] any I don't like).

If you're interested I can give more specific guidence. It'll help if you post the details, though they're all pretty similar.

My bad. I said trailers when I meant containers. In a nut shell, I use JR's wellcars, the weathered Huskies with their weathered containers and they always load bottom first. I use a MIN and place whatever buildings I think are suitable for that industry and then add whatever touches I think are necessary. Good luck and have fun.

There are actually two components - the interactive industry and the interactive well cars.

If you go into Edit / Session, click on the Rolling Stock flyout, click on the "?" and then on the well cars you will find that in my session they have been re-configured by removing some of the loads they were originally configured to carry.

I've uploaded several youtube videos about all this. Search with "philskene". Watch them full screen and in HD.

And tell me if this helps.

Phil
