Looking for Good Passenger Cars

Alright you train lovers, I have a job for you :)
Recently I have taken up (again) model railroading and it is getting very expensive... So, in my good long world of trains, I would very much appreciate if you train lovers went out onto the internet and looked up some of the most Beautiful passenger car sets out there.

Here is what I am looking for: (the WHOLE nine yards)

Union Pacific set
New York Central, or New York
A Newer Southern Pacific Daylight set (+ a remodel of the engine if available)
A Sante Fe set

I already have a million steam locomotives so im good on those ;)

What I do have is the old NYC set, 2 Streamliner Union Pacific (+ an older one) all the p70 and pullman sets, and every thing default in Trainz.

So, the clock is starting, I will check up either Wednesday or Friday. I have looked, word of advice, There are several sites that have "Trainz" in them. Try to avoid them...

P.S. If any of you happen to run over some good quality Payware Steam Locomotives from the United States, that would be great.
Nothing from Trainzitalia, already stripped that place clean :hehe:

Cheers

David

Ah man, there are so many attractive and potentially desirable US passenger sets out there for all sizes of Class One roads from the 1900s, 1940s, 1950s, some with likely not that much demand, who could reasonably do them all?

As pretty as it is, a good SP Daylight set ought to be really popular.

A couple potential sets from small class ones which come to mind -
L&N Hummingbird
CoG Nancy Hanks
GM&O Abraham Lincoln and Ann Rutledge
They had a red steamer of some type used at times on these.

Some of the following may already exist and just knot be known yet.

How about nameable streamline stainless steel cars?

Ahh, there are nameable turn of the century, TOTC, wooden cars on DLS!

Would be neat to have reskinable, or simply paintable, meshes for wooden cars, steel heavyweights, smooth side, and corrugated cars.
At this point, it would have to be someone else to make them!
Although gMax was looked up yesterday.

Not sure how to define the particulars but the mind envisions sort of an "electronic version" of the old Athearn blue box and MDC Roundhouse kits for HO scale cars.

Something else which has come to mind - animated Railway Post Office cars and trackside mail catchers for them.
That could be an industry cycle, post office - RPO - delivery/pickup by RPO - RPO back to post office.

Thanks for replying man.

I guess I could google up and start reskining the SP daylight cars. Those would surely be a hit. I do have the totc cars, not exactly what I was looking for but I do use them at times. There are so many good passenger cars out there, you just have to look for them. Trust me, ive looked. Mainly all the "good ones" are payware models... Well, ill have to keep looking... :D

Also getting some new payware Steam engines:

Union Pacific #9000 from the cowboy
Union Pacific Challenger pack from Paulz trainz
The triplex from Paulz Trainz
Dreyfuss from Paulz Trainz.
And the 2-10-10-2

My 24 year old cat is a wining so Im going to go take her to the vet

Cheers,

David

I once had a dog that had no nose !
How did he smell ?
Awful !

I have seen so many great freeware passenger trains on the DLS.

Search: http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS.php NYC ... or /RollingStock/US/Coach-ChairCars

Once you find a great Chair/Coach, search that assets creators username, for matching additional passenger consists

Don't matter if your train layout is plywood, dirt & shrubbery, or at the other end of the keyboard cord, them critters still end up lying on it!
Hope she turns out as okay as can be for 24.

Did stumble across some non-Crescent Southern heavyweights and some L&N blue heavyweights the other day, maybe even in DLS.

Will look and be back in a bit.

Thanks guys for all your coaches and passenger cars. Downloading now :)

Barn700, I just spent some of my money on some xbox games while preordering Halo Reach and Black Ops, so a couple days of work and I should be ready to order! What im looking at is probably the 4-6-6-4 challengers, the dreyfuss, Triplex, Sp Cab forward, 2-10-10-2 and both the ATSF 2-10's... See what I can do about. Might be a few weeks or so, but your going to be about $50 richer soon :p

Yes, my cat is 24 years old, its a miracle she is still alive. Here nose has gone gray and she sits in only two spots a day. You get to wondering when is she going to... you know... She is alright though, vet said she has lived a good long life and she could live to be about 26! Getting kittens in 6 weeks, Idk how she is going to adapt.

Btw, anyone got a reskin for the Southern Pacific #4449 and the passenger cars. Advice, start making it... It would most likely be huge :hehe:

Cheers, David

lilb has made 4 versions of the gs-4 and paulz trainz has made a good gs-2, the full daylight set hasn't been remade but there are a few random coaches and baggage cars floating around the dls. ts12 has a remodeled/retextured version of the classic santa fe set as well as adding some new stuff like the observation car.
whitepass has lots of new york central stuff on the dls. and union pacific being the largest railroad in the world, it shouldn't be too hard to find a UP passenger set.

anything from K&L trainz, Paulz trainz, or Jointed rail is worth every cent if you're in the market for payware.

also i would work for bnsf or up because they are the successors of my two favorite railroads(southern pacific and santa fe) i would personally work for bnsf because i see up as a huge "evil" corporation that killed off the best railroad ever(southern pacific) and because BNSF has a paintscheme that is very swaggy.

you do know that the last post in this thread was 4 yeas ago ?????
