Looking For A New Group To Form

Hi
Just joined yesterday. Most of the content I make is older style buildings 1890's- 1950's. Mostly houses and railway buildings and windmills. Also have made some other bits and pieces, speed and whistle signs station name boards. I've also made a 1950's Queensland Railways diesel loco, not released. Fairly much all of this from my home area. I like making old houses best.

Hi all,
For those that want to talk to each other to hash over your ideas you are welcome to use my Team Speak channel Thompson & Western @ 24.34.133.237
it's up all the time 24/7.
When you come up with good ideas you can then share them here.

Hi
I'm bumpping this to get more members to join.
We have a name, and getting idea on what to put on our route.
So come join us help in building our route.

I've received a few more PM's of those interested in joining, I'm just waiting for them to send their info to me.

Also bumped to see if others may be interested in yesterdayz trains. I am also wondering how the new patch is working for those that have been able to download it.

I have had good fortune with it. My trainz has been running stable and have only had to do minor repairs on some content involving missing images. Other than that I have been doing poor man's signaling on a FER route.

Like James, I had to make some minor repairs. I also had a problem of deleting the missing assets from the Laurel Line map. Other then that, I've had no problems.

I had to do a couple of EDRs and wound up ditching a couple JVC assets that were faulty and that I couldn't repair but aside from that loss, it all worked ok. No built in assets are missing (that I can tell at least).

Bugs I've noted so far:

  • Steam Controls in "Expert Mode" are dodgy, sometimes they work, sometimes not. (Both my Ben Neal reskins and Blue Comet)
  • I have boxcars with "interiors" (you actually are treated to views like your hanging off the ladders outside of the car) and with them, in cam 2, the + and - keys cam sometimes get reversed causing you to go back and forth between 2 cars when pressing either the + or - repeatedly.
  • Draincocks don't work.
  • Surveyor has no sound now (may be deliberate, I haven't heard).

As an aside, it really aggravates me how they seem to consistently IGNORE testing the steam locomotives...

New features:

  • Access to DLC and DLS in game (including upload of your routes in game)
  • Multiplayer game browser
  • New filters in CM
  • Sound loop in main menu screens (like 2004 had, sounds of trains coming and going)

Bug I noticed fixed:

  • No more suicidal / Drunk drivers on the highways

First, I can assure you that testing was done with steam locos, as we do have a built-in 'steam' session. However, it will have been somewhat limited compared to testing with diesels, simply due to the ratio of steam to diesel sessions. I've personally not seen any control issues with steam locos, apart from the non-functional cylinder drains effects (I will add, this is thankfully a visual only issue, so it won't stop the steamers from actually working).

For the box cars, if these are your own boxcars (or you have added the interior view), try adding an a.cabback attachment point as well. If the vehicle is rotated 180deg compared to the rest of the train, it can force the train 'heading' to reverse (lights will reverse, the +/- keys will work in the opposite direction, etc). Having a.cabback should prevent you having the train heading change.

Unless I've mis-understood you here, and your only in the 'external view' when you see this happen (you don't go into the boxcars 'interior view')?

For the sound in Surveyor, I will pass this on to the team.

Regards

Cool, thanks Zec.

The steamers controls go dead randomly. The sliders can still be used, mouse can still be used, but the keys for the reverser and regulator go dead. When this happens brakes can still be operated. As I said, this happens with the Blue Comet. Sometimes changing views can restore it.

I'll check on the box cars, I did do them, but I used a technique borrowed from Sniper297.

*goes and looks*

Yeah, that needs some review I think, no a.cabback and without a long description it doesn't seem to conform to standards really. I'll have to fix that.

Yeah, I'll probably update too, as soon as I can plan some off time.

Off as off the computer that is. :hehe:

Greetings from cloudy Amsterdam,

Jan
