Long route; Is it possible?

Just wondering if it is possible to make a route in TANE or any other version of trainz as long as the trans Siberian railway in Russia.:o

Answer is yes but its saving and uploading will be limited for maps over 1gb, I have a route that's over 1000miles long and can't be imported normally into trainz. How long depends of how much detail you want added the longer the map the larger the file size and the harder it is to import/export but its not impossible.

It's 5,770mi. long so you could run out of RAM and will run out of time. Most of the big long routs never get done.

Is it really worth the effort to model the entire route "as is". Perhaps model the more interesting sections and connect them with portals.

Having traveled the whole 9188km, I can confirm it is not worth the effort. The landscape becomes very repetitive.
Plus nobody is ever going to play a 6 day long session.

Only if you wore really bord or had alot of time to kill.

My Kovdor route probably offers about as much of a dose of tundra and low rolling hills as it's possible to take in one route.

Why not make an extract of the more interesting bits, maybe the "BAM" (which has the choice of a base tunnel or more windy route through the hills) or that old section which is now a tourist railway alongside Lake Baikal?
