Long queues for assets

Hi, I'm currently having problems on Trainz, like long queues for the assets I select. Did this happen somewhere because of the internet or something similar??

Again I have never experienced that.

What exactly do you mean by a long queue? Is it a long list of assets that appear in the Assets List. You didn't state if you were using TRS22PE and Surveyor 2.0 or TRS22 and Surveyor Classic.
I have TRS22PE and Surveyor 2.0. This happened 2-5 times when selecting assets during route construction. When I select one and click in the construction field, "Loading Asset..." appears. It also no longer shows an image of the assets that I can select to add.

The problems are buildings probably

The "Loading Asset..." message puzzles me. Loading from where?

Can you give me the names and <kuids> of a few of these assets? In the Assets Palette expand the palette width by dragging its right hand edge out to the right. This will reveal more info such as the <kuid> code of each asset.

???? - not what I requested.

Are you selecting the assets from the Filter Palette or the Assets Palette? You should be selecting them from the Assets Palette which lists all the assets you have installed. The Filter Palette, depending on the filter setting, may include assets that are on the Download Station (DLS) but are not installed.

See Placement:_Scenery_Mesh_Objects for an example of how to select and place an object into your Trainz World.

Having dusted off TRS22 to do a bit of model railway building, I have just encountered this issue. Went to select a level crossing from the menu to get things rolling (having previously placed the Basemap), to be greeted by this message and spinning icon of nothing happening. Trainz version is 131986 (current Steam build). Never encountered this previously although only seems to be certain assets.

This sounds like TRS22 is precaching content. Click on the Launcher and then Developer. Pick Show Client Logs.
There will be a lot of scrolling and yellow icons for warnings about what the precaching isn't caching.

It'll take a while to sift through your content.

Thanks John. Might also try an extended database repair, though as noted previous times I reinstalled TRS22 everything worked straight off without messing around!

Edit: That didn't work either as soon as I try and trigger the "Duplicate Repair Attempt Aborted" even though no evidence a EDBR in progress,

Next step is doing a Steam verify on the core files, in case something got mangled.

Edit 2: Looks like the Steam verify might have sorted it as the EDBR now proceeding. Which hopefully cures the original problem.

I'm glad Steam helped. I don't use the Steam version and don't know much about its quirks.

The DBR runs automatically without any notice now. Keep an eye out for the validation thing. You'll notice precaching messages at the very top of the screen when this occurs and everything will be awfully slow.
