London St Pancras International (Work in Progress)

High Speed Trainz
Hi all,

Although still only a work-in-progress and not up to the standard of some of the excellent screenshots in this forum, here are some shots from London St. Pancras International, which I'm currently messing around with after finishing my previous two layouts (London Euston and Cambridge). Hopefully it is good enough for those who know the station to be able to recognise it. My intention is to possibly release the station as a 2/3-board layout only, which people can expand or merge as they wish. No time scale for completion yet.

The old trainshed, now home to Eurostar trains. (Yes, I know the Eurostar is a re-skinned TGV).

When passengers arrive, they have to disappear down into the old undercroft to go through customs and arrivals, hence the escalators and the barriers to stop non-passengers from getting onto the platforms.

This is the public-side of the undercroft, with shops and bars, etc.

Looking up the trainshed.

NICE Paul!

I love it!!!

Looks better than the one I'm tryin. I reskinned the roof by andi06 to the bluish-whitish color thats used on the roof.

Hi,

really very nice. Nice to see a big station again. Good work and good luck with building this complex station:wave:

@ Issacg... any chance you could send me your reskinned roof? I don't have Gmax and don't know how to it.

@ chris_rose_1... thanks for that, really useful, although I've got some very clear overhead photos from various recent train magazines as well. I started trying to mimic the exact layout but it wasn't going well, so I've reverted to my own interpretation.

Thanks for all the kind comments.

Excellent stuff. I watched the programs of the rebuilding of St Pancras on television last year, and your model certainly does it justice. The architect agonised over the extension and the end result wasn't what he had hoped for. The typical British trait of cutting corners frustrated his plans, although it has to be said, the finished station certainly looks impressive, as does your model. Well done.

Best wishes,
Padster

Please sir, can we have some more?
Not just yet, sorry. Working on something else (just depends how the mood takes me), plus got a bit stuck getting round the first curve from the station into the North London tunnels (all sorts of tracks crossing over and under each other!) - just can't get it all looking nice and reasonably life-like, so trying to sort that out.

Thanks for the interest. P.
