C/LTJG - Operations
I would like to get my hands on one of these, does anyone have an idea where I can get one? I prefer one that is mostly American steam. If anyone can help it is greatly appreciated.

I've got one that I inhereted from my uncle (Model Railroader Loco Cyclopedia 2--diesels).

btw, I'm sure eBay has everything, so you might want to try there.

Model Railroader made two Loco Cyclopedia's one Diesel (out of print) and one steam that you can get new now.
The Locomotive Cyclopedia of American Practice and the Car Builders Cyclopedia are something else not made for model making but for the railroads. You can find some at Amazon under used, cost run from $150 to $500 US and are about 1,000 pages each. Raildriver has 5(?) on CD's (I have 3 of them) for about $40US each. The two oldest ones are free on Google as thy are over 100 years old and out of copyright.
You should also know that the plans may not be all there, on a steam loco you will not have the tender, the wheels, or some of the fittings like air compressors and piping.
Also some reproductions have been printed over the years.
