Local Folder in 09?

Is there one in 09 and if so can I paste my 06 folder directly into the 09 programme folder?

The database format for TS2009 differs from that of TRS2006 so we are told that it is not possible to transfer the 'local' folder.

It is suggested that content can be transferred by CDP or archive.

What might be possible, I haven't tested this, is to start with an empty 'editing' folder in TRS2006, select a bunch of content and 'open for edit in Explorer' Then in CM2 (TS2209 CMP) use 'File' + 'Import Content' to load from the TRS2006 editing folder. As CM2 will load and commit content from any other folder, it should work from that one.

I stress, no guarantees, test it well with a small amount of data.

The following method works (well it does on the Beta):

Open for edit in 2006.
Close CMP.
Open CMP2 (2009)
use Windows explorer to find the 2006 "Editing" folder, highlight it, then "drag & drop" onto the CMP2.

I've imported a route that way - but it does take some time - and it's possible that exporting everything in one go is too much (maybe just for the Beta ?)

The good news is that CMP2 is multi=tasking...

Those are the correct steps Colin. Whilst CM2 does take its time, it's the sort of task that you can set going whilst you make a cup of tea or perhaps have a good nights sleep. We've tested 10,000 objects overnight and it worked fine.

yeh, the original CM had the 'import content' options on one of the file menus. that worked for importing 'local' folders from other installations. Im sure the same goes for 2009.

Bit scary as I have well over 40 gig of content in my local folder. I suppose I will have to open the folder and import the sub-folders or even open those to import. What a job!
