Loading and saving cars in session.

I have many sessions by others where the cars are preloaded when the session starts. These cars are in a yard and just parked. My question is, how is this done, because If I copy the consists, when I place it in my own session, the cars are empty. Is there a way to load a car, say a flat car, with trailers for instance and save it in a session exactly that way?

In Surveyor, click on the "Properties" [?] button, then click on the car, load it and then save the session.

The simplest way is to use the instant load command when you start a driver session.
Or clone the vehicle and alter the initial count (in the load) from 0 to 1 or 2. These vehicles will then always be loaded leaving the originals to go to industries to be loaded.

If the consist you want to load comes into play through a portal, loading it through driver orders - as suggested by fran1 - is the only way. There are two orders I know of, but both of them share the same drawback: they - inevitably - apply to the whole train.

"Instant load" will work fine, but it will load all the cars in the consist with the first commodity of the first queue specified in the config.txt of each car.

"Load with..." will also work fine, but:
a) you will only be able to select loads that are already listed as dependencies of cars and industries that are already on the map;
b) the same commodity will be loaded on all the cars that can load it. That's fine for unit trains, but can be a problem for trains containg several types of freight cars. Maybe this limitation can be overcome by issuing several "Load with..." orders (e.g. assume you have a boxcar and a flatcar. A "Load with...|General Goods" will load both cars; a subsequent "Load with...|Logs" could replace- though I admit I never tried - the General Goods on the flatcar with logs)

In Surveyor, click on the "Properties" [?] button, then click on the car, load it and then save the session.

That is what I was looking for. I didn't realize that you have to click on picture of the load you want, and then click on it again and change the "units" before the load in the car appears in surveyor. Thanks...
