I downloaded a route a couple of days ago , New England Coastal, which is an amazing route. All kinds of industries that work, very scenic, great frame rates, etc. Everytime I tried to get some AI going, however, the Ai train would exit one of the portals and within 1/2 mile would stop dead. I found out that the error message was "junction was missing a lever". After reading up on this on a few posts on the forum, I discovered that one of the junctions had a problem had I had to track down. I soon found a junction on the exit to Portal South had no red/green arrows. In addition a section of track coming out of Portal Basic 4 was broken in two. Those were the first portals I had used for AI generation, and the AI train had stopped right near these problem areas.
So I edited the route this morning, re-did the broken track sections, and when I deleted and replaced and joined the track sections at the junction, the red/green arrows now appeared. Now I had the original session with all kinds of consists that I had put all over the place, so I decided to try and edit the session I had been using that I spent 2 days setting up, and change the kuid to the new repaired Route I had created when I edited the route. I cloned the session, went into edit in CMP, and copied the kuid number from the new repaired route into the Kuid map location on the cloned session plus in kuid table ( so 2 places) . Saved it, went back to start up my new session and nothing was there, like there was no session at all.. :'( Must be another step..... ah ha... forgot to commit it. Went back to the cloned session, back into edit, hit the commit button, and when reloading the session, which I gave a slightly different name, I had my original session and all it's content with the repaired track and junction on the repaired route. Put some AI on the two problematic Portals using Portal control, started everything up, and out came the AI trains on their merry way
.
Learning things in Trainz is as much fun as running the trains.
