Layouts that lose their identity?

Hello,

I am using Trainz TC1&2 a lot lately, trying to turn it into my Trainz for European routes, Trams and all around upgraded stuff.

There is this one problem in the CMP where some routes will occasionally "lose" their original KUID number and take on some random - (minus number).

It happens fairly often now, when it does, I have to go to my hard drive and import and re-commit the route. Is their any function in the CMP that will allow me to "lock" the original so it will not change? I notice that the "built-ins" have never lost their identities.

I am starting to notice "when" this happens ... when I go to try driving the route through the Surveyor, and it puts me through a longer than usual " do you want to overwrite this route (and it gives a brighter, more colorful than usual window with the name of the route fully, clearly in the window). It occurs to me that it's going to overwrite the route and mess up the KUID number! Thanks.

When trainz saves anything it uses your kuid number. Check that it is still in your settings window, if not it is saving as a default number. All you need do is change the kuid number in the maps config. You will also need to change the map kuid in any sessions related to it.

Thanks for your reply Stagecoach.

My personal info is saved correctly in the CMP, along with my user ID...
But every session that I have saved, is saved with a -minus number such as -2:1044.

This also applies to saves where I have included my name, such as Bob's session ...it does not put in my user ID, it uses a minus number!

When I click "My Content" in my 2006, I get a pile of saves under my user number. In TC1&2, I get none! And I have made plenty of saves, even including my name!

The CMP also does not seem to be "caring" about the Kuid number in a downloaded route's config.. it eventually gives the route a -2 number and I lose the route's splash screen, and the ability to search for the correct missing dependencies!

But I will explore your idea about the numbers in the config files soon. I'm hoping that this is not yet another miserable Auran bug...:udrool: Bob P.
