I'm a newby to forum use.
I have seen reference to using the ruler in Surveyor but can't find it.
I want to design a HO scale layout, have selected the scale but can't find any reference to size to give me an idea of what area I am working with.
Can someone please help a confused old bloke??

I never created Trainz in Model RR, nor HO scale ... but the ruller is in the Tools tab.

While holding the mouse button down, and drag it.

If you like Imperial measurment, tick in that style.

Feel free to PM me and I will explain more about measurements.

I will toy around with Model RR rulers in the mean time.

1. Select the ruler in the Tools flyout tab and lay it/them on the baseboard. They will measure in the default Real Scale.

2. Go into Surveyor menu and select Edit Route. A new dialogue box will open.

3. Select your chosen Working scale from the R/L arrow pick list box

The rulers will remain as laid but the measurements will change to the model railway scaling.

Mezzo has made a nice diagram there, make sure to select your units (metric or imperial) when selecting scale (Step #3).
And remember not to leave the rulers in the route when when you are done and ready to save. For some reason, that affects frame rates in Driver.;)
