Laying tracks parallel

On track splines where a double track variation isn't available, how do some layout builders lay tracks parallel to each other without them conflicting to make junctions?

Hi,

I think I know what you mean, do a search on the DLS for my KUID (74510) in Trackside Accessories, I made some guides for laying parallel tracks. There is 2 different sizes with different track spacing, the smaller 3m ones can be used for curves/corners while the longer ones can be used for straights.

Hope this helps... :)

Hold down the shift key while laying the new track to keep the track from joining the other track and making a turnout.

Hi,

This might help, see where the spline points are, lay a track, then lay a second one not to close, then move that track to where the points look like that.

hi mate

i lay the double track with lots of spline points and then delete them and replace with single track one spline point at a time

cheers

There are also a whole series of guides available on the DLS for situations like this. Have a look at any of these and see if they can help you.

what I do is lay double track and judge where the next set of tracks are by looking at the rotating circles at the ends of a section of track. and I also use track straightener tool.

If it is for your personal use, you could try making double track out of the single track you like, I've done it. Now if you're releasing and wish to try this, then ask the track creator if they or you could release a double track version. Tons easier than working with all the single track.
