I had a passing look at the up to date Dell XPS 13" laptop. Just curious as to whether TRS12 would work on it as would be handy when away on holiday. The Gigabyte 14" is more of a gaming laptop but had mused on the lightness of that Dell for travelling.

For the past three years I have had 2012 running on a Toshiba Satellite C850-107 which has an AMD E1-1200 (1.4GB) APU with integrated Radeon HD graphics, and with 8 GB RAM. It was never fast and quite sluggish at times but handy when away from home and being as there are more powerful Netbooks and Chromebooks on the market today I'd be surprised if the Dell could be any worse.

I don't know if you can make any comparison but there is a write up on the Dell XPS 15 9550 in the April 2016 edition of PC Advisor and they score it as 4/5 (PC Advisor Recommended). Peter

I've been running TS12 on an old refurbished Dell laptop with an i7 and intel HD graphics. So yes it runs but if you go with the newer i7 XPS it has 520 intel graphics and that's quite close to what TANE likes with the sliders set back.

At the moment I am using a HP notebook with....
Windows 10 Home
AMD A8 - 7410 APU with Radeon R5 Graphics 2.20 GHz
Ram 8.00 GB
64-bit operating system, x64 based processor.

In options in TS12 I have set all but the bottom slider to the left.
TS12 runs perfect without stuttering.

Noted the input folks and thanks for that. Your item John on the Dell was of particular interest. Will be a help when get away on a couple of trips this year as due to health interruptions has seen me gong nowhere last year. If the tv is lousy in a hotel room or yeuch outside I wil at least have Trainz to cheer me up.
