In surveyor i have the kuid on screen option turned on, what does it mean when its in red, the kuid is my own, but it only shows on two items all the rest are white
Yes - Yellow is built-in, White is content from the DLS, and red is content not from the Download Station or built-in (including locally modified content).
...well, it does and it doesn't, Chris. The only way you can change the colour of any 'self' created asset (from red to white) would be to physically delete the asset from CMP and then download it, again, once you have uploaded it for general use - the colour won't automatically change, simply because the asset has been uploaded and approved by N3V. CMP will always see the original source of the asset and provide the appropriate colour. It's only an indication and doesn't mean that something is wrong (I agree, a better choice other than red might have been made for this colour)...
...although, there may be some logic in the choice of the colour. After all, if the asset has been created locally and added to Trainz in a route, without being uploaded to the Download Station, there is the possibility that the route could then be uploaded without the asset being available for all and sundry. This would create a "missing dependency" situation (which the good folks at N3V want us to try to avoid), so the 'red' might be seen as a "make sure that this asset has been uploaded if that is the intention" 'warning'...
...Ah! Thank you. Malc, that was something of which I wasn't aware (being entrenched in TS2010, as the 'latest' version of the program I run, in which the colour firmly remains red). Your 'advice' has been noted for future reference...
