Ts 2012 - Should the files in User data / Cache/ libraries, be emptied out and deleted occasionally?
I read somewhere on this forum that it was OK to deleted the thumbnails and the Internet so have just emptied Cache/internet and Cache/thumbnails but am looking for guidance on Cache Libraries. I try to keep the unnecessary files to a minimum in the search for optimum performance but dont want to delete the wrong stuff Cheers

Being cached data, the program should clean them out its self so I would not clear them unless there is a compelling reason to do so such as problems with crashing or DLS access issues.

The cached libraries are the ones used by the route you are running, presumably assists in quicker loading time, that's why if you run a route a couple of times it loads a bit quicker.
If you only ever run the same routes there is nothing to be gained by deleting them, as they will be cached again as soon as you run the route, If however as some do, you download every route that appears, run it once and move on to the next, then the cache is going to get massive, in that case it's a definite benefit to delete the contents as Trainz does not.
At the moment as I'm pretty much just working on building my own route the, library cache is pretty much the same files and isn't getting bigger. Deleting won't do any damage other than slightly longer loading times, probably wouldn't notice on a high spec PC.

Thumbnails similar, delete the cache and next time you are browsing items on the DLS they have to be downloaded again, if as I am you are on a data cap, the more stuff I don't have to keep re-downloading the better, so I leave thumbnails alone.
