Jointed Rail Traction Motor sounds corrupted?

Recently, I was trying to find a way to add some GE Traction Motor sounds to my JR BNSF ES44C4 until I noticed that it actually comes with Traction Motor sounds that are built-in to the game as a dependency on the wheel trucks, but the .wav sound files are corrupted according to the Windows Media Player, Audacity, and TLC Media Player. I downloaded fresh ones from JR's website and imported them to T:ANE, but the files were still corrupted even on the fresh install. I then tried to repair them, to no avail. Does anyone have a fix?

I was just seeing if a fresh download of the sound files would not appear as corrupted. I wasn't replacing any files, nor actually editing any files. I just installed them into T:ANE because I kind of use it as a testing ground for things, but they were still corrupted. I used Audacity to open them and get a sound out of them, but it's just static.

They are probably encrypted. N3V encrypts the built-in and packaged content in T:ANE because there was/is an issue with piracy.

Try reverting the assets to original and testing them in Driver. Right-click on the asset and choose Revert to original from the menu.

FYI... you did place this in the TRS2022 forum and not the T:ANE forum.

I know I did it in the TRS22 forum because its an issue with the TRS22 built-in files. The Locomotive Traction Motor Sounds are not built in assets in T:ANE, so I installed new files that I just downloaded from JR into T:ANE to see if it was just my TRS22 install being dumb, but they didn't work in T:ANE either. I guess I should've clarified that in the original post. I'll test out your suggestion.

You might be better off asking in the Jointed Rail payware forum since it is their loco. Justin has forgotten more about Trainz than most of us ever knew. ;)

Yes, I am aware. I was talking about the sound files that were corrupted in the TRS22 built-in files. I saw that they were corrupted in 22, so I installed them to T:ANE to see if a fresh copy of them would behave normally, but it didn’t seem to work. I know the new locos are for TRS19 SP5 and above, especially when it says in bold red text.

Well, I installed new ones from JR’s website to T:ANE.
