Jointed Rail Signal Help *PICS*

Hi, I want to put signals in my route, but I'm a little confused. Last time I tried I'm pretty sure I did it way wrong. I will be posting some pics on some junctions and I would like to know what signals and settings would go with them.

First off What do these settings mean?

Also what is the difference between RD and LD?

On this pic how would I signal the middle track if its direction was /\ ?(that is an arrow facing up:D)

On thes pics, how would i signal it if it is just going straight for a while?

On these two pics showing the start and end of a siding, how would I signal the right track if its direction is /\?

Last one... How would I signal the mainline track on the left if its direction is /\? And how would I signal the junction coming into the mainline if it was facing \/? (the signal would be on that long gantry slightly in the distance)

I really appreciate all the help. Thanks!

Look in this forum or use the search feature. There have been a few threads in the last month detailing how to use these signals. Sorry, I don't have the links, but scan this particular forum or use the search feature. NS37, IIRC, gave some advice, as the creator of these signals.

First off What do these settings mean?
-It means exactly what it says, define straight path thru the junction, not the diverging path. So if it was, l / that would be a RD. \ l would be a LD. \ l / would be for forward, a junction that splits 3 ways.
Also what is the difference between RD and LD?
-Right Diverging / Left Diverging!

-You can use eith or LD or RD 06 signals!

-Use 05 signals! 04 signals if u want the train to stop.
On these two pics showing the start and end of a siding, how would I signal the right track if its direction is /\?
-Again LR and RD 06 and or 08 interlocking signal!
Last one... How would I signal the mainline track on the left if its direction is /\? And how would I signal the junction coming into the mainline if it was facing \/? (the signal would be on that long gantry slightly in the distance)
-You want to use 04 home signals to stop trains, 06 for diverging paths and stopping trains, 05 for distant signals and 08 for interlockings and stopping trains! (There's also 06 distant signals that mimics what the home signal is showing.)

-Hope this somewhat helps!

-Joe

Thanks! That really helped, but I have two questions:
1) If I track that is goinging /\ has something where a track comes in like this /|, do you ignore that in the signal?

2) this question is more basic : what does an interlocking 08 signal show? Like the top, middle, and bottom head.

1: no you would still want that in the signal if it is to protect that. every junction the signal path goes through on its straight path must be defined to function properly, if it does not, then the signal will stop protection there. your example like /| is a right diverging turnout.

2: same as the others except allowing for slow speed aspects and lunar restricting.
