Jointed Rail - Folkston Webcam has a new home and a new view!

Jointed Rail Productions and Railside Lodging have partnered up to deliver a brand new webcam experience. Our funnel cam has been moved to a new location in Folkston, GA. The new camera is currently sitting on the A602.1 on CSX's busy Florida Funnel attached to the former Roadmaster's lodge. This new view allows us a much wider viewing angle as well as the installation of night lighting early next week for optimum night viewing. We are also planning on restoring audio so that you can also hear the 70-80 trains per day that pass our webcam. Once we are complete with all the upgrades in the next 2 weeks we will be streaming full 1080p HD as well as audio and a scanner feed. There are also plans to install a new camera further north in town up around the junction of the Nahunta & Jessup subdivisons. This will provide us a view of the interlocking just north of town. Folkston is an important piece of real estate for CSX as 90% of all Florida bound traffic will pass through Folkston on a daily basis. Below is a short list of a couple of popular trains you may see on the cam and the times they normally pass by.

Tropicana Juice Train: Operated from Bradenton, FL - Jersey City, NJ (Q740 Loads & Q741 Empties) Between 7-8pm EST
Amtrak Auto Train: Operated from Sanford, FL - Lorton, VA (PO52 Northbound & PO53 Southbound) Around 7pm
Amtrak Silver Meteor: Operated from Miami, FL - New York City, NY (PO98 NB & PO97 SB) Around 6pm
Amtrak Silver Star: Operated from Miami, FL - New York City, NY (PO92 NB & PO91 SB) Around 11:30 pm

There are plenty of other trains to keep you busy such as Autoracks, Coal, Intermodal, Manifests, CSX OCS, and as of late plenty of Foreign power and even the occasional Military moves.

Thanks and enjoy it!
