Japanese Track

I am still a beginner and only just creating my first route, but I like to plan ahead! So as I plan to make Japanese layouts, I have been scouring the DLS, but unable to find a TS10/12 Japanese Track.

I plan to use Keimei/Kenichiro's trains, some of which list themselves as 42 inch gauge. So have been trying to find a 42 inch gauge track.

I've read that some tracks kink on turnouts and tight curves, a problem I would like to avoid.

It would be nice to start off on a good footing, I don't want to get to a point where I have shed loads of track laid down, and then suddenly realize the track is just wrong. I can't imagine the time required to go through and re-do a whole layout to use a different track asset.

So in short, any suggestions for a good high quality japanese track asset (preferable that would work nicely with Keimei/Kenichiro's DMU's/EMU's etc). Freeware or Payware is okay.

Apologies for being new at this, I think the initial learning curve for layout making is so high, so much to learn and research before you begin!

Look for track that is listed as 1066mm or 1067mm, depending upon how the builder named it.

42-inch track is also the same as 3-foot 6-inch track if this helps.

Naijeru, FANTASTIC!!!! I wish more people would put on Japanese tracks. I couldn't find any complete tracks for Japan for T12 either Good luck with it.

Japan has fantastic scenery and trips that would make great sessions. Hope you have success.

Thanks Cam, I am going to start with a small old line in Yamaguchi first, I visited their and really liked it.

I'm just working on finding the right track, I saw Ocemy's and it's great, but I think it's SG not NG. Same for McGuire's set. It's a shame there is hardly any 1066/1067 track out there. Also (as per my other thread), I'm trying to work out the difference in build versions. Ocemy's track is TS2006/2009, so is it a good idea to use it with TS12 anyway.

Its good to start small. Can't wait until you get to try one out to TAKAYAMA (in Gifu), that is one you would need a different one for each season.

Good luck and hope you do well.

Sorry Peter, I did post a thank you for those. (As per my other thread though, post only seem to go 50% of the time). And the DLS is having issues too, only letting me login 50% of the time it seems too (or less).

All the tracks posted look good quality, and I don't think it matters with regards to build versions (I'm sticking to 2.9+ / TS2009 where possible on things) on tracks. I mean, between builds... what can be different about a track?

Time to start putting combinations on surveyor and examining the wheels.

Thanks for those too ak_timur.

I think I have enough now to start experimenting. Thanks again everyone. Once I make a start, I'll start a build thread in right section and link it here.
