Don't know if anyone posted this pic before, but here's a photo of one of Japan's Intermodal yards that was hit by the March 11 earthquake. The containers look like a stack of model railroad toys;

My heart goes out to the people that were involved

First thought occurs to me, how would you clean something like that up? You'd almost certainly need a Sikorsky Skycrane to start in the middle, using a regular crane to work in from the outside would create instability in the piles and bring stuff tumbling down all over. Boggles the mind just to think about all the hazardous manual labor involved, riggers will need to attach cables to each one individually in a way that will lift without knocking something else over and then be able to set it down rightside up.

I want to express my deepest simpaty and sadness, for the events that happend at Japan. Japan is the last country on earth that deserves this magnitude of catastrophe.

I admire how the people of japan confronted the catastrophe. With dignity never seen before.

Do not loose hope. I am Italian, living in Germany. But as sicilian, I know the dangers of a sismic events. No matter what mother nature decides to do, do not give in. We are part of mother nature, and as part of her, we are obliged to strive ahead. My thoughts are with the japanese people.

P.S.: I would like to know what happend with the great artificial isle on which was build an airport. I do not have any relatives in Japan. It is not an urgent request. I am just interested in the great achivements that Japan made.

My brother's best friend's in-laws were protected from the tsunami by the railroad grade that runs on the edge of their farm. They were some of the lucky ones, I suppose.

I truly express my sympathies and deep sadness for what happened with this event.
